Deep Space is correct!
If you see below, one person ('Deep Space') stated that the 'hidden' songs on DPs 13 were this Soldiers' and Sailors' Memorial Hall version of Scarlet > Fire. Deep Space in his review is correct: DPs 13 version was completely different than this version of Scarlet > Fire. Not only different, but about ten or eleven minutes longer! That hot version, with its long jam by Brent, is the longest version of Scarlet > Fire ever played! ...Logging in at about 35 minutes. This one is much much shorter. But it's not bad. My five stars are for the REAL version of S > F that Deep Space refers to, not this show, although this show is a good one too.

It's Still Great
Seriously - for any of the whiners on this thread - you are going to really complain about this show? The Brent work on Dancin' is nothing short of some of the funkiest and time-appropriate work he or the band has ever done. It's straight, as somebody said, Herbie, but also P-Funk by way of Bernie Worrell and it is TIGHT! Sure sound quality may not be pristine but to hear the boys rocking in the netherworld of 79 - c'mon!

Not the Scarlet from 11/1/79
This is certainly not the scarlet from 11/1/79. Its 18+ mins long w/long funky jam - my personal favorite. This show is ok - 1st set has some good peaks and sound is decent. But the sound is worst in the 2nd.

This is the best my ears have ever heard! Brent and Bobby are back and forth the whole way.
This is an interesting arrangement but the second set is audience. Too bad, due to great list but the first set features a very noodly and enrgetic Franklin's. The song has moments of sounding like cape cod or rochester from the fall run back east, but the list is in set one so it is interesting to see franklin's just hanging out in the end of set one- and followed by rippin yet somewhat truncated deal, which was prefaced by LL rain. Bobby is waaay into the LL rain and so is Jerry , so as you can imagine, it totally becomes a mellow jamfest with a rocking creshendo (sp?)... The quality is b-ish but that is fine turn it up. Cold rain gets honarable mention as well as the transition jam in dancin. Its all good! I would give 3.5 if I could.

maybe it's the sound...
But this show did very little for me. There are some moments, like the electric Scarlet>Fire, but despite the impressive setlist, there's nothing much here. It's a fine performance, but lost in a sea of wonderful shows.

hidden gem
OK, the sound from this show is not A+ but who the hell cares, the jamming in Dancin'>Franklins is sick. Brent rips the synth Herbie Hancock style! and the setlist alone makes this impossible not to download. Come on people, show some love for this beuaty.
